EXCURSION TO PICTON
Among the principal attractions for holiday-makers on Boxing Day will be the excursion by the ferry steamer Wahine to Picton, with an extension by rail to Blenheim. The ship is to cast off from the Ferry Wharf at 8 a.m., and after a run of something under three hours, half in sheltered water, should arrive at Picton about 10.45 a.m. The connecting train will leave shortly afterwards for Blenheim, and will return to the Wahine's side before she leaves again. Special launch trips to interesting spots in the Sounds have been arranged, and excursionists will be able to obtain hot water at these places, and at some of them lunch. Those who do not t.ike any of these trips will find plenty to interest them about Picton. Tim .Wahine wi'l!, start down Queen Charlotte .Sound on Tier return trip a little: after 2 o'clor-k, and should be back at- Wellington before halfpast fivo.
