WORKERS RESUMING
CASE AGAINST REBELS
ELECTION DEADLOCK LONDON, 19th December. The "Time's" correspondent at Madrid states that the situation is rapidly improving, and workers are resuming in many towns. Four more military judges have been appointed to deal with the Cuatro Vientos rebels. A special. judge will open the case against the arrested members of the Eepublicau directorate, one of whom, Lerroux, is suffering from anthrax. Political leaders urge that tho elective constituent in the Assembly bo invested with a mandate to decide a form of Government which the nation desires. The Monarchists most strongly wish to avoid this, and, for this reason, an election deadlock exists. The casualties in the recent insurrection numbered 11 killed and 80 injured. Five hundred were imprisoned.
