Newman, a member of tho wellknown Nelson cricketing family, is expected to join up -with the Wellington Cricket Club after the holidays. • Shepherd, a good batsman who played in England before coming to Xew Zealand where ho has been a prominent figure in Hawkes Bay cricket, is now playing' for Midland; and will probably be up with the seniors for the nicxt match.
