THE NEW SHOES.
The new shoes arc very interesting, , and, unless your feet be wildly eccentric in shape, you can find a variety of models that will please Infinitely. Many of them have handbags to match. Your shoes are one of the most important items of your ensemble, its foundation (punning aside). Surely I don't hnv^e to tell you that again? Your mother probably dinned it into you all your life. I know mine did! "My dear, it's by her shoes, or .her gloves, or her hat, or her lingerie, that one distinguishes a real lady." Arid then, too, girls, when you buy shoes don't choose high heels, complicated straps, or delicate toes, for your sports wear. Nor box-toes, low heels, and sturdy leathers to go -with your chiffon afternoon frocks. It seems superfluous to suy this, but as I go about this city, which has the.best things in the world fo offer women, I often sadly can state that they don't sh,ow as much discrimination as they might. And then, too, if you have a plump foot and a high instep, don't try to jam it into a narrow, pointed shoe; and, contrariwise, if you have a long, slender foot, beware of 1 ho short vamp, and the exaggerated a roll.
