The two-way system of lights on the old Karori Viaduct is working very well, and should be sufficient as a means of controlling traffic until +he new bridge is completed. Tho roadir.g on the old structure has been narrowed somewhat so that it is now impossible for two cars to pass. A traffic inspector is still maintained at tho viaduct during busy hour's of the day. Special arrangements have been made in regard to funerals. Tho Traffic Department is notified by undertakers of the time of a funeral, and a man is sent to turn ofl' the eastern lights, allowing one-way traffic only. This obviates the possibility of an accident when a long cortege- passes over the viaduct.
