ITALIAN AIR ARMADA

STORM ON FIRST STAGE

ROME, 17th December. The Italian Air Armada of twelve seaplanes left for Cartagena on the first stage of its trans-Atlantic flight. The squadron encountered a violent storm at the Balearic Isles. Eight have arrived at Cartagena and four are anchored in the Bay of Pollensa.

Poliensa Bay is in Majorca, largest of the Balearic Islands, which are situated in the Mediterranean, 110 miles from Barcelona, the nearest point on the coast of Spain. It is 250 miles from Majorca to Cartagena.
