ADELAIDE, 18th December. In the Sheffield Shield cricket match against South Australia, New South Wales in the first innings lost three wickets for 455 runs. Bradman scored 258, Jackson 166, and Kippax, not out, 20. There was a great duel between the world's best batsman and the world's best googly bowler, Grimmett. The crowd was treated to a rare exhibition of slogging by Bradman, who punished Grimmett as he had never before been punished. Jackson batted in a masterly fashion, making many brilliant strokes, and was always confident.
