WEATHER OUTLOOK
x< XOT AT ALL SETTLED
During the last twenty-four hours almost all parts of the Dominion have enjoyed fine "weather owing to the fact that the country is enveloped by a slight anti-cyclone. A few isolated showers, however, have fallen in the Gisborne district, where southerly winds were still strong this morning. Otherwise southerlies have been, light to moderate from Cook Strait northward, whilst over most of the South Island north-easterlies have set in and freshened somewhat.' This latter feature in the meteorological situation is due to the presence of a cyclone in the Tasman Sea. All the chief centres yesterday experienced fair to fine weather.
To-day's forecast is for variable winds at first, but before long northerlies or north-easterlies are likely to become general and to freshen. The weather should be fine generally at first, but cloud is likely to increase and rain develop later in northern and western districts. Temperatures will be mild.
