HUTT VALLEY TRAMPING CLUB
A company of over 90 members and friends assembled in the Tuarua Hall, Lower Hutt, on Tuesday evening, to farewell Mr. S. Jonea, secretary of the club, who is leaving shortly for Dunedin. A programme of dancing, interspersed with enjoyable vocal and elocutionary items, was carried out and much appreciated. Mr. W. Wilson, vice-president, spoke warmly of Mr. «Tones and his work as secretary. Mr. Wilson then, on behalf ot the club, presented Mr. Jones with a handsome leather suitcase, and cheque. In replying, Mr. Jones paid a tribute to his committee and members, who had made his duties as secretary a pleasure. Supper having been serveid, the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing.
