STOLEN SACKS
Having stolen a number of'saejjs valued at &9 3s^4d, tho property '■ 6i Alexander Gorrie, Andrew George Gray Surrell sold them under an assumed name to a~ dealer. As a result Surrell appeared at;the Magistrate's Court today before ;Mr.E. Page, S.M. Sub-Inspector-Lopdell said .that lh* accused was a married man, and ;.ha.<l been out of work for about three months. He was very hard up. The Magistrate entered aconvictioa and admitted-the accused to probation, for two years on condition that he repaid the value of the goods stolen ata rate to be fixed by the Probation Offir. ccr.
