AUSTRALIAN SHEEPSKINS.
(Received 19th December,' 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. General surprise was expressed at the Federal Government's export duty of a halfpenny a pound on sheepskins, in the face of an adverse report by the Tariff Board. Trade in sheepskins consequently is completely disorganised. The sales were postponed until to-day to enable exporters to.consider the position. The unanimous opinion after their meetings was' that the duty would depreciate the value of sheepskins throughout Australia to the full amount'of the export duty. !'
