WAIRARAPA V. WELLINGTON

The primary school senior. representatives of Wairarapa and Wellington commerced their annual match at Kelburn Park yesterday, and at the end of the day's play the local boys were in a very strong position. Tho visitors made only SO runs in their first innings, Donaldson and Coradino being the main contributors to the score with 13 arid 12 respectively. Bowling for Wellington, Edwards took three wickets for 13 runs, Parker three for 21, Tolau one for i, Gray one for 7, and M'Keown one for 0. Wellington made--134, the chief scorers' being. Tolan (41), Parker.(4l not out), .and Bell (17). The visitors in their second innings had made 2S runs for the loss of four wickets when Etiimps were drawn. ' '■■ ■ ■ ..The match was concluded to-day, Wairarapa being dismissed in their second innings for 138. When Wairarapa's fourth wicket fell yesterday at 24 prospects were not bright for.the visitors. Turnbull .and M'Whinnie made a fine stand, however, and brought the score up to 111. Wellington made a disastrous start in their second innings, losing four wickets for 10 runs. They were saved by Daly, who knocked up 55 in quick time. His .score included eight 4's and one sixer. - Those who made double-figure scores for Wairarapa in the second innings were: J. Turnbull 49, J. Lochore 10, I. M'Whinnie 51. Wellington won by five wickets and 17 runs. . • JUNIOR MATCH. Junior teams from the Wellington and Wairarapa primary schools played a match at Kelburn Park yesterday, the local, boys winning by an innings and seven runs.
