FAIR TO FINE
WEEK-END WEATHER Pressure is still fairly high between New Zealand anil Australia, and low at and to the east of the Chatham Islands. A wave of low pressure, however, crossed the Dominion last night, but it was too' slight to have any unfavourable effect on the general weather conditions. A few isolated coastal showers occurred, but otherwise tho weather during the past twenty-four hours has been mostly fair, although cloud and haze have been much in evidence. Auckland experienced a fair to fine day yesterday, with a light south-west wind and a mild night. At Wellington it was dull but mild and pleasant, with a light north-west wind blowing. The weather at Christchurch was cloudy and a trace of rain fell in tho afternoon. There was a heavy shower there after midnight, with a total fall of 13 points. Dunedin had a rather unsettled day, with a fresh south-wqst wind, but no rain was reported. Tho forecast is for moderato southwesterly winds, later veering to west and north-west in and south of Cook Strait. Tho weather will bo fair to fine for tho most part, but some showers are expected later on tho West Coast of the South Island. Temperatures sHould 'becometnirlder. ' ' w _ ,
