WHY CATS, DOGS, AND MICE ALWAYS FIGHT .
One day, long, long ago, when cat*, dogs, and mice were friendly, three dogi and three cats livedJ next door to eacK other, while three mice lived with the cats. . They all were very happy, and in th» - evenings tho dogs would come to the : cats' house and the mice would come" .out of the walls, and they would all have a merry ovening. :. One day the threo dogs went to thethree cats and sai3: "Pear cats, we'are going for a; holiday as winter; is coating. ■' ■■ . ■ ' "-•' + "Wo have made our wills in caseW*5 have an accident, so will you look if £*? them until we come back?" , : ;: ' The cats agreed and took the' wHfe, but in a few days they got tireiFe* keeping them, so they gave them to ;$# mice with orders to keep them safe;",/ But when the winter came the-mlei were so hungry that they ate the wills. So when the dogs came back and asked for their wills the cats replied that the mice had them, but as the mice had eaten them there were none.
