BOXING

TUESDAY'S TOURNAMENT. That patrons of boxing welcome the return to activity of the local association is evidenced by the patronage which is being extended to next Tuesday's tournament. From his first appearance in Wellington, Fairhall became a firm favourite with supporters, mainly on account of his forceful tactics, while Morgan, as a local product, has always attracted more than average attention. The Australian champion suffers somewhat by weight comparison with his younger opponent, but his experience has continued over a much longer period, and should make up this advantage. Prior to the big contest five amateur- bouts are set down for decision, and in each instance good contests should be the order. The box plan can be inspected at Perry's, Manners-st.
