' Tlie latest development in . councction with the' proposed personnel of the Unemployment Board is that the New Zealand -Alliance, of Labour is calling a meeting of all Wellington workers in the Trades Ilall on Sunday next at S p.m. Mr. James Roberts, secretary of the alliance, -will be the chief speaker, ami representatives from other centres will address the meeting, llv'. Roberts was one of the workers' • representatives on the Unemployment Colnmittce, and was: the chief spokesnian at the recent deputation to tho Minister of Labour, regarding the right of the worker? to elect.their own representatives on the Unemployment ■ Board. It was matters arising out of this deputation which provoked the interest in the representation on the board, hi the course of which the Alliance.of Labour has been subjected to severe criticism. It is the intention of the alliance to reply to this criticism at the meeting, and. to allow the rank and ■file of .the workers an opportunity of expressing an opinion on its policy in regard to.this matter! ..An interesting feature of the' meeting, is", the, challenge which the alliance, has issued to its opponents to attend tile meeting.
