CHINESE MARKET
AUCKLAND MUST ACCEPT
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Considerable opposition has been voiced by local bodies and individuals to the leasing by the Auckland Harbour Board of sections for the purpose of establishing a Chinese market board. When granting the application the board is said to have been unaware of all the circumstances, but yesterday the board's solicitors stated that the Supremo Court would grant a decree for specific performance of the lease in favour of the company, and the board therefore decided to execute the lease. The local bodies' protest was generally based on opposition to peaceful penetration by Asiatics.
