WORSE SPOTS THAN AUSTRALIA
PEBTH, 11th November. The former Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. S. M. Bruce, who has reached Fremantle on the Orama, stated that one of tho definite conclusions he had arrived at was that notwithstanding the difficult times Australia was facing, she was in an incomparably better position than any other country. In Britain the situation was serious, and he could not see any improvement until things got worse. On the Continent the position was tragic. Every country, with the exception of France, and, to a lesser degree, Belgium, was either in a serious economic and financial difficulty or heading toward such.
