ELEPHANTS IN PROCESSION
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, 10th November. The Lord Mayor's Show, one of the oldest of London's civic pageants, was held to-day, when tho new Lord Mayor, Sir P. Neal, rod© through the city in the'famous gilt coach, the centre, figure in a procession of civil dignitaries, soldiers, Scouts, bands, and representatives of city companies. This year the procession took the form of a pageant of Empire, and included, for the delight of onlookers, four elephants carrying howdahs representing a Mohammedan building and a Hindu temple, signifying India, and special displays representing Canada — this including mounted Red Indians — Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, the Irish Free. State, and Newfoundland. Great crowds watched the progress of the procession from the Guildhall to the Law Courts.
