PIGEON RACING
Two races were flown, during the weekend: by the Petone Homing Pigeon Club. One was from the north and «the other from the south. The race from Helensville resulted in a very close finish, but the birds flying up from.-ishburton were well separated. The following were the detailed results: HelensviJle, 316 miles air line: Bold and Son's b.c.c. Southy (velocity 050.4 yds per minute), 1; W. Smith's b.c.h. Miss Turbine' (950:3 yds), 2; W. Smith's.b.c.b. Wet-Paint, f949.9yd5), 3; J. Bolton's b.c.c. No. 12, (949.63yd5), 4; W. Asplet's b.c.p.c. Spot Light (949.62yd5), 5; W. Smith's blk c. Black Duke (949.4yd5), 6. Ashburton, 242 miles air line: W. Smith's blue h. Bluette (flying time 7hr 25mm 20seo), 1; P. Mexted's r.c.c. No. 85 (7hr- 31min llsec), 2; H. Johnson's b.ch. No. 1 (Bhr Smin 54sec), 3; C. Carter's b.c.h. No. 1620 (Bhr 43min 9sec), 4; Bold and Son's b.c.c. No. 1348 (Bhr 44min 48sec), 5; P. Mexted's r.c.c. No. 19 (Bhr 53min 9scc), 6. 4.' flock and an interval race will be flown next Saturday from Whangarei.
