Barometer.—Yesterday, 9a.m. 2D.65in; today, 29.70 in. SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS. A low pressure wave, one of a series of depressions of the westerly typo, crossed the Domlon last night. It intensified to the eastwards; and consequently fresh to strong south-west-erly winds have become general. Showery weather has been experienced in all districts with a westerly aspect, and the far South, but no heavy falls have been reported. No rain appears to have fallen in eastern districts. Temperatures became cool in Otago and Southland, but elsewhere they have remained mild in- spite of the south-westerly winds.
