It intensified to the eastwards; and consequently fresh to strong south-west-erly winds have become general. Showery weather has been experienced in all districts with a westerly aspect, and the far South, but no heavy falls have been reported. No rain appears to have fallen in eastern districts. Temperatures became cool in Otago and Southland, but elsewhere they have remained mild in- spite of the south-westerly winds.
