Brown (chairman of the board) have returned from a visit to the Continent. Their main object was to arrange for contracts in Germany for next season^'..The German-elections took place while they were in Munich. Owing to 'the uncertainty of the future the business houses were unwilling to make any definite arrangements for next season. Mr. Stephens and Mr. Brown visited the cool stores .at the Hook of Holland. These tvero built entirely for meat, which passed from there in barges up the Rhine. Germany hs^now, placed an embargo upon the''importaiipri;Vo£ meat, and the* storeowners1 Care-naturally looking for other business.: The Fruit Board officials, found the stores very suitable for apples. In Sweden they did some useful work, and there are. prospects for good business in the large varieties of apples next season; Mr. Brown is returning to New Zealand by.the Tamaroa. %
