THE MEDDLESOME GNOME
Tiny-Toes was a meddleionie and mischievous yougg gnome who lived. ia Fairyland. At this moment ha was sitting on the edge of a large box of crackers which were to be fired off the next night. A frown of perplexity was plainly written on Tiny-Toes' face, but a wicked smile was playing about" '.the corners of his mouth. Eight on top of the heap of crackers was a box' of coloured matches, and colours were TinyToes' craze. Ho struck one, but allowed his eyea to wander up to the ceiling, and consequently the match'burnt his fingers, and with 'a howl" of paia he let it drop into the box"of crackers. Bishl Whang I Whizz t Crackers went sky-high and liketho little silly he was he clung on to a giant skyrocket which went clean through tha roof and up into the sky. Bang! TinyToes found himself sitting in his owii garden, and it was a sorry little figure that crept into bed that night. You can be sure ho will not he meddTesom* again. "PEAKL MAIDEN" (12). Pctorie.
