A return published in the 'Gazette' last niglit gives ; the areas which it is estimated will be'under wheat, oats, barley, and potatoes during the season 1930-31. The figures are as follow/;— North Island;—Wheat, 3700 acres; oats, 16,500 acres; barley,. 1900 acres; potatoes, 4400 acres." South Island.—Wheat, 239,3Q0 acres; oats, 305,500.acre5;.. barlejv 23,350 acres; potatoes, 19,600: acres.
