I As the result of further returns of tho elections tho position in regard to tho House of Representatives at noon on Thursday was: Eepublicans 217, Dumocrats 213, Farmer-Labour 1,1 doubtful four. Tho Republicans, and Democrats are now almost dead-locked in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. The actual majorities hinge on the few final returns and recounts. The Republicans stand to gain 218 votes for a majority in the House by tho victories of three normally Republican districts still involved in close contests. In the Senate, tho bid of Mr. Sehall, a Republican, of Minnesota, to overtake the early lead of Mr. Einar Hoidale, a Democrat, gives the Republicans hope of retaining 48 of 96 seats.
