OF LAST 24 HOURS. ■ 'a depression of the' westerly type crossec the Dominion yesterday, but since last nighl it has.developed cyclonic form in its northerr portion. At 9 a.m. to-day\ the centre- of' th( cyclone Was located near Napier., Intermittent rain fell yesterday in districts with a westerly aspect, while it was mainly fair ou the east coast. During aud' since last night, however rain has become fairly general, and nianj heavy falls have occurred in the North Island and in Westland. Strong north-west to' west winds were blowing yesterday, with gale force at places, and. westerlies or northerlies wen still' prevailing tills morning north of New Plymouth and Napier.
