NO. 10, DOWNING STREET
HISTORIC LONDON HOUSE
CONDEMNED BY PREMIERS
LONDON, 6th October. No. 10 Downing Street, which is famous world-wide, is under the glare ofi criticism. The house is. old, dark, and inconvenient, and visitors from the Dominions arc invariably amazed when they see it.
Mr. Baldwin has frequently expressed dissatisfaction with it, and this is endorsed by the evidence of Mr. Mac Donald and Mr. Lloyd George, in an official paper issued to-day. 'Mr. Baldwin said that it 'was a most awkward house, and the coal, light, and' gas bills were enormous. Mr. Mac Donald said that his h'av> ing to live there was greatly against the will of himself and his family.
