(From "The Post's" Representative.) LONDON, sth September. Miss Hilda K. Hiscoet (Wellington) left this week by the Moretoii Bayou her way home. She spent the last few weeks visiting relatives in Wiltshire and Dorset. Mrs. G. D. Greenwood (Christchurch) has been in Paris for a fortnight with friends. She had a very pleasant time renewing old associations. Just now she is in Belgium, doing a considerable amount of motoring, and has also attended the race meetings at Ostend on several occasions. On Sunday she saw the "Grand Prix." After leaving Belgium, Mrs. Greenwood will motor with friends into Germany, Holland, and France. She describes Ostend as being the best and most healthy seaside^ re-soi'fc-she .was ever iii,':whilo the gaiety is wonderful. ■" • ■
Miss Doris Syine (Wanganui) is going to Paris for a few' weeks with a number of other vocal studeuts who aro working with Miss Anne Williams. Miss Williams is going over primarily to meet Dame Nellie Melba. . The students regard the trip.as part of a necessary education, and they are fortunate to be going over in such pleasant circumstances. : • ■ - ■■ ...
On 17th September Miss Doris Black (Wellington) will leave for the Dominion, after an absence in England of six years. She will travel via the East. For several years Miss Black has been seriously studying r/nging, working assiduously and profitably under the tuition of Miss Anne Williams. She has a lyric soprano voice of beautiful tone and quality, and she possesses dramatic possibilities. Miss Black came to London in 1924 with her father, Mr. James W. Black, who was one of the New Zealand officials at the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley.
The Eov. Dr. J. T. Pinfold has changed his departure date. He will leave Southampton on 26th September.by the Bangitane. While he was in Birmingham recently, taking Sunday duty for the Central Mission, he made use of the opportunity to visit Lutterworth with the object of learning more about John Wycliffe, and ho had quite a profitable time. Research in regard to John Wesley has also been interesting Dr. Pinfold, who has been gathering up many books about the famous preacher and his environment. Until near the date of departure, Dr. Pinfold will be in Cheshire, taking services in the North.
