The offering to-day was 90S1 bales, including 3392 bales New| Zealand. About iflSO bales were sold.
The sales closed with prices unchanged from the recent level. Compared with July closing rates, merinos and best combings prices were fully maintained, but faulties and inferiors declined 5 to 7Ms per cent, in value. Carbonising sorts were 15 per cent, down, scourers, good, 10 per cent, to 15 per cent., and faulties and interiors 20 per cent. Crossbreds were all weaker. Halfbreds fell 10 per' cent.,' slipes, half bred,; 15 per cent., short and faulty lines 15 to 20 per Lambs wools were neglected, and fell 10 $0 20 per cent. . The market has been hesitant throughout, but at tlte lower levels competition lias been quite good. There were 164,000 bales catalogued, of \v-hich the Home trade took 56,500 bales, the Continent 70,500, and the United States 1000. There were 75,000 bales held over, of which 53,000 were not offered. The total Australian wool sold was g6,000 bales,- and New Zealand wool 55,000.
