AEROPLANE CRASH
SEQUEL TO JOY FLIGHT
INFATUATED YOUTH IN COURT
SYDNEY, 29th September
As a sequel to illegally using an aeroplane- which crashed at Granvillo, Walter Crothers, aged 21, came before tho Parramatta Court, which ordered him to enter into a bond to coufe up for sentence within two years if called upon. Crothers was directed to pay £50 damage. ~,.,. r, n, « The Magistrate saxd that Crothers was so young that he disliked sending him to prison for an offence which was unique. He thought the ends of justice would be served by warning him of tho grave danger to himself and other inexperienced persons trying to fly aeroplanes. " ' Crothers's only excuse was that iie was infatuated by flying, in which lie had had some experience.
When the machine crashed the joyrider arranged for the transport of the wrecked 'plane to the Mascot aerodrome, accompanied it part of the way, and then disappeared. He took a young passenger when he flew from Hargravo-'P&rk.- '.
