RANDWICK RACING
PROSPECTS OF NEW ZEALANDERS
(From "Vedette.")
SYDNEY, 26th September
There is little likelihood of any marked change on the Epsom-Metro-politan market between now and race day, although more than a week will elapse before the A.J.C. Meeting commences. Pentheus, who continues to work well, will start favourite for the Epsom Handicap and should be hard to beat. First Sight, to bo ridden by S. Davidson, will be well backed, but the bustling race may beat him. Killarney, on account of his Tramway Handicap effort, is also in demand, and Adrian's March has come decidedly into the market after his two successes. He has been well backed by E. A. Connolly with the Metropolitan favourite Cragford. Fuji San, Gay Ballerina (who is working very well), Dominant, Mollison, and Eaglet are also in the market. Mollison is under electric treatment for ligament trouble, but is standing up to his work so far. Holdfast, Tom Pinch, and High Disdain have gone righ* out of favour. Pentheus and Killarney appeal most with Eaglet a possibility for a surprise. >.' ■• The Metropolitan appears to be dominated by Cragford, Waterline, Pacmito, with "Gay Crest, In the Shade, Dalston, and' John Buelian the. most likely of tho others. Public form points unmistakably to Cragford, but Waterline is expected to improve. Tlie Derby favourite Veilmond - is under a cloud at present-with a cracked loot, but George Price expects to- have him1 fit- for race day. '- He will have-to be at Ills' best to-beat-The Doctor's Orders, who is doing a real. Scobie preparation. Balloon King and Sargon are the only others . discussed; to any degree. Balloon King may provide a classic- winner for B. O'Doiinell, and Sargon has come on in very pleasing fashion for J. TJ Jamiesom -At the present The Doctor's Orders is the prime pick. He is favoured, for he comes from a Martian mare, Neirene, and he looks- the part. " '■ ■'-'■-■■■■
