The first rounds of the senior and junior championship competitions were played on the Mornington links over the week-end, with the following results:— Senior: Edwards beat Clements, 1 np; Wilson beat Brooking, 7 and 5; Shanks beat Strathmore, 3 and 2; Bowness beat Melville, 4 and 3. In the second round Hartwell beat Fitt, 2 and 1. Junior: E. Williams beat Edwards, 4 tip; M'Whirter beat Laycock, 2 up; Carter beat Perrett, 4 and 3; Donovan beat Elton, 1 up; Hennessy beat Buckman, 4 and 3; Kelly beat Sullivan, 6 and 4; Goodman beat Barton, 1 up at the nineteenth; M'Elligott beat Watkins, 4 and 2: Henry beat Gillies, 5 and 4; M'Kinnon beat Melville, 1 up; Kilby beat Ward, o aud 2.
