LATE MR. T.R. FLEMING
The funeral of the late Mi. T..R. Flem : ing, who died suddenly at Dunedin oii Sunday, took place at Wellington yesterday afternoon. • The casket had: ■ been placed on arrival in St. John's Church, and was surrounded by many beautiful wreaths. Though' it is over thirteen years since Mr. Fleming removed to Dunedin, the representative gathering' of over two hundred, includiug many leading educa-. tkmists and old associates, who assembled in the face of, -a ■ biting southerly, was clear evidence that Wellington people • have retentive memories for a. good man and a true, friend. A simple, earnet service was conducted by the RevS. Blanchard, M'Keuzie, and A. E. Hunt (brother-in-law).- The chief ' mourners were Dr. H. Stuart Fleming. (Wanganui), Messrs. Jack Fleming (Dunedin), sons; J. S. Fleming, James Fleming (brothers), and Andrew Fleming .(Wellington), nephew. The pall-bearers, all old.'friends and associates, were Professors H.Mac-' kenz'ie and Tennant. (Training, College and Victoria University College), Messrs. F. P. Bakrwol! (University Senate), T. Forsyth-.. (Wellington Education Board), J. B. Hopkirk " ;(teachers), and C. 8. Moore (elder .of the Presbyterian (Church). ■ ■ . , . Among, those present were the Mayor, Mr. G. A. Troup,: and Mrs. Troup, the. Deputy ' Mayor, Atvl M. F. Luckie, and Deputy Town Clerk, Mr. R. Tait,Dr, W. J. Anderson, oi' the New Zealand University, Mr. H. F. yon' Haast, Mr. JS Torris (Registrar of the University).
