THEyBUSINESS GIRL
The city, business girl is the thriftiest member of the community, and easily holds the record for saving, says the "Daily Mail." Her reasons are thrift for thrifts -sake, provision for old age, the creation of a holiday fund, or to get- married.
This is .'revealed'in a statistical survey of the money habits of men* and women in London, Birmingham, and a country district around Exeter, made by Lloyds Bank. .
Of the'girls interviewed in the cities 73 per cent..had savings accounts, compared with; 56 per cent, in the country. The | figures for men were 68 per cent, in the cities'and.67 per cent, in the country. ,' . ■ .
Thirty-sis per cent, of the city business girls stated that they saved for the sake of ithrift. The girJs interviewed were typists, clerks, waitresses, and shop assistants.
