PETONE COURT
Mr. T. B. M'Neil, S.M., dealt with cases in the Petone Magistrate's Court yesterday.
For failing to.give way to traffic approaching on the right, Alico Jane Canning was fined £1.
Wallis Arnold Knapp was fined £1 for refusing to stop his car for a constable, and was convicted and ordered to pay costs for driving a car at night without lights.
Iliirry .Davis, George Mcdhurst, and Ximoii .Ritchie wero each fined £2 for having been found ou licensee premises after hours. A request by. Medhurst for the suppression of his name was refused.
The Inspector of-Factories charged .11. Hing with having failed .to close his fruit shop at S p.m. A fine of £3 was imposed.
Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil cases: Commissioner of Taxes v. W. J. Walling,' £1 11s 2d; N. E. Willis v. Robert Aldrich, £1 15s; F. G. Keid, Ltd., v. A. E. Martin (separate estate), £4 Os 3d; C. Robertson v. K. Manning, £13 10s; Patone Borough Council v. Gough and Jensen, £5 5s 3d; Inspector of Awards v. Jensen, Gough, and Sons, £10.'
On a judgment summons J. H. G. Henderson was ordered to pay Paul Chapman £7 Bsld at tho rate of £1 a week, in default seven, days' imprisonment; W. Clarke to pay N. E. Willis £5 11s 6d at the rate of 10s a week, in default six days' imprisonment; J. Henderson to pay E. J. .Tames
£2 at the rate of 10s a month, in default two days' imprisonment.
On the rehearing of a jud o jient summons, F. C. Murrell was ordered to pay H. H. Tocker £0 18s 6d at the rate of £1 a month, in default six days' imprisonment.
