LATE MR. T. R. FLEMING

The passing of Mr. T. R. Fleming was referred to by Mr. T. Forsyth (chairman) at this morning's meeting of the Wellington Education Board. Mr. Fleming, saia Mr. Forsyth, had been well known to all connected with educational work in Wellington. He was a man of groat ability, and with a very pleasing personality he quickly made good, not only with pupils but with teaching staffs. Mr. Fleming had never spared himself outside his official duties to do what he could in the interests of education. The board passed the following resolution, members standing in silence: — "That this board expresses to Mrs. Fleming and family its profound sympathy with them in their great loss; that it would add the hope that their sorrow may be tempered by this consideration—that the board and people of this district recognise, with grateful appreciation, the enduring _ contribution to education and civic service made by Mr. Fleming during an assist--1 ant, chief, and senior inspectorship, of 27 years, marked as it was by admirable zeal, integrity, practical wisdom, and a, noble personal example, and that it may be truly affirmed of him that he had well learned to enjoy the luxury of doing good."
