INQUEST ADJOURNED
STORY OP THE ARREST

NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day,
An inquest regarding the death of Cora Alice Townsend, alleged to have been murdered by her husband, Alexander Townsend, was formally opened this morning by Mr. R. W. Tate, S.M., and adjourned till Wednesday nest, when a further adjournment will be sought. The inquest and Lower Court proceeding? on the indictable charge will be hea,rd together.
It appeal's that the man arrested walked to Waitara carrying a loadid shot gun on Tuesday morning. He hired a taxi and went to thr house of the factory manager at Oneroa, Mr. P. Huse, where his sister-in-law. Mrs. Huse, lived. Later he drove on to Urenui. Mr. Huse advised the Waitara policeman. Constable la Pouple, whu reached the Oneroa house as the man returned there. He handcuffed the man, who resisted, and brought him to New Plymouth. The gun was in the car, but it had been unloaded by the taxidriver.
