THE END OF TRADESMAN

AUCKLAND, This Day. The sistcen-ycar-old trotter Tradesman fell dead at the track after work-": ing this morning. Ho was bred in Atis-' tralia, by First "Voyage, and waa brought to New Zealand some years ago by G. Glasheen, who also brought over Grand Voyage and Stormy Voyage, Subsequently Tradesman was sold to' L. Hill, of Auckland, and placed in J. Bryce's stable. Ho won a number of races, and was then sold to GeorgePhipps, of Auckland. Later he wasbought by the veteran owner E. Sandall for 11J guineas. He had riot won a race for years, but for the present owner ho won £630 in place money.' ■
