SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

The work done by Mrs. J. Aphn and her helpers at her concert for seafarers at the Sailors' Friend Society on Tuesday resulted in many demands for encores The performers were Mesdames Strong and Aplin, and Misses Potter, Lenuie, Jupson, Blake, and Messrs. Humphreys, Rothwell, and Strong. The Misses Lennie, Phillips, and Cooley were at the piano. Light refreshments were handed round by hostess and helpers. Mr. J. Moore, missioner, spoke on temperance, and pledges were added to the books. Prizes for tho competitions were given by Miss Lucas and the Victoria League.
