Tho cost of living,' so far as price fixation is concerned, was considered at a special meeting of railway officers last week. It was alleged that concerted movement was afoot in one trade ostensibly for the purpose of fixing wholesale and retail prices. ;
The following resolution was carried unanimously:—''This meeting, of rail■wfiy officers views with alarm the action of merchants and grocers combining for the purpose of'fixing the prices of foodstuffs, which action must inevitably recoil to the grave disadvantage of the consumer.
