MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. E. Page, S.M., presided at a sitting o£ the Magistrate's Court to-day.
Two first, offenders for drunkenness were fined the- amount of their bail (10s).
Frederick Albert Rose, labourer, aged 21, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment ori'a charge of stealing £27 from the Gorge Service Station.
Chief-Detective Ward said that on tho night of the 12th August tho accused went to a petrol service station in Ngahauranga Gorge. He had a friend at the station, and went into the office for an hour or so. While there he took the day's takings, consisting of cheques and money. None of the money had been recovered, as the accused had cashed the cheques and spent the money. It was stated that he had been before the Court before on a charge of dishonesty.
On two charges of obscene exposure in a public place, Lewis Fenton, motor-driver, aged 27, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment on.each, charge, the sentences to bo concurrent. The Magistrate snkl that it was a class of offence that must ho met by. imprisonment.
