ROTORUA, 26th August,

The Rotbrua open amateur golf championship meeting opened this morning in fine weather conditions. The entries were limited to eighty. Twenty clubs are represented. The course is in splendid condition. ■ ._ The sixteen who qualified are: .hex George (147), Bransden (148), O'Callaghan (149), Phimley and Hocken (152), Troutbeck and H. Lusk (153), Parata and Buddie (154), Bartleet (155), M. Duncan, Dr. Howden, C. H. Howden, Menzies, and Wells (156), Harrison, Rainger, S. E. Carr, and M. Carr (157), tied for sixteenth place, and. S. E. Carr won the draw.
