SUNSHINE ONCE AGAIN

Another shallow cyclone crossed tho northern part of New Zealand last night, (jut pressure has continued faitly lrigh as a whole. Dull and unsettled weather prevailed in many places yesterday, rain extending from Nelson. and Marlborough northward. A few heavy falls occurred on tho East Coast of the North Island, whilst Blenheim reports a' fall of snow iv tho back country. This morning clear skies were in evidenco over tho South Island, whilst in the North Island, although tdoudy, no ta'm was reported at 9 a.m. Strong south-easterly winds prevailed about Cook Strait yesterday, with easterly, or south-easterly breezes elsewhere. Tho winds now arc mostly light.

Auckland had a showery morning yesterday, followed by a fine- afternoon and further light rain at night. - This morning a thick fog enveloped the northern city. Dull and misty weather continued in Wellington yesterday, and light rain, amounting in all to 14 points, fell at times. The southeasterly wind kept temperatures on tho low side. This morning, however, ss.vr a very marked improvement. The weather in Christchureh yesterday was dull, but no rain fell. A cloudy morning in Bunedin was followed by a bright and sunny afternoon, the wind being a light north-easterly. Light to moderate and variable winds arc now forecasted, with mainly fair lo fine-weather and cool temperatures. Cloudy, misty, or foggy weather, however, is likely in the Auckland and Hawkes Bay 'districts. Scattered showers are likely there, and also in southern Wcstlnnd a.u(t about.
