Paul Jessup (Seattle) threw tho discus IG9 feet 8 7-8 inches, a new world record. Tolan defeated Simpson in the hundred yards in 9 7-10 sec. Simpson defeated Tolan in tho 220 yards in 21 3-sscc (an American record). Steve Anderson (Seattle) equalled tho world record of 14 2-ssee for 120.
