NEW PLYMOUTH, 23rd August.
The Tarauaki Kugby representatives defeated Mnnawhenua by 30 points to 5 on ;i dry, warm day. Taranaki had its strongest team Jn the field, and the margin might, have been considerably wider had not Tni'iinaki become lackadaisical in the second spell, toward the end of which Manawhemia scored and converted a try.
Taranaki in the early stages frequently swept the Deld with rushes that, left the opposition standing.
