SUSPICIOUS FIRE
DEAD MATCHES TELL TALE

AUCKLAND, 24th August,
Suspicion attaches to a fire, which occurred at the promises of the Auckland Fishermen's Corporation, Ltd., on Friday night. The fire was quickly extinguished with small damage.
The suspicions were aroused when it was found that the edges of a pile of papers in the shop at the other end of the building were scorched, and a .'lumber of dead matches were discovered. It is believed someone entered by an open window, but.nothing was stolen from the premises.
A second fire in tho same locality occurred last night, the scene of the outbreak being a small office belonging to Winstones, Ltd., a few hundred yards from the Fishermen's Corporation promises. Only minor' damage was done.
