(Received 23rd August, 2 p.m.) NEW YORK, 22nd August. At Newport, in the semi-finals of the men's singles, F. T. Hunter defaulted to W. T. Tilden owing to an injured arm. W. L. Allison defeated Q. M. Lott (both Americans), 2-6, 6-3. 7-5, 6-3.
