BAYS WANT MORE SERVICE
A large meeting of residents of Worser and Karaka Bays was held on Tuesday to consider the curtailment ot certain bus services.. After much discussion the following resolution was passed: "That the servico remain as it is, with tho addition of another morning bus to Seatouu at 10 a.m." Tho reason given for the request for an additional bus at 10 a.m. was that it was impossible for women to get tho 8.25 a.m. from Karaka Bay. At present there was no service between 8.25 a.m. and 1.20 p.m. Tho morning bus sometimes carried as many as 00 passengers, whereas it was licensed for 32 only.
It was suggested that the terminus bo extended as far as the now tearooms Rt Scorching Bay. It was also
arranged for a deputation of women residents to wait upon the tramways committee at the first opportunity.
Apologies for absenco were received from the Mayor and Councillor K. A. Wright. Councillor W. Gaudin was present, and explained to the meeting the view of the council.
