The Committee of Inquiry into the sugar industry consists of eight, with Mr. J. Gunn, Commonwealth Director of Development, as chairman. Every phase of the sugar industry will bo represented. The inquiry will cover costs, profits, manufacturing conditions, necessity for continuance, of present prohibition on importation of sugar, effect of present sugar prices nn manufacturing industries and fruit processing, values of land used for sugar growing, alien penetration into tho sugar industry, and also other aspects. '
