A GOOD LOTION
Complexions are like motor-cars — they need special winter treatment. Motor-cars require a change of oil, and complexions a change of grease. The raw frosty winds and rain play havoc with the skin if care is not taken. The following lotion, which is from the toilet table of an amateur is claimed by its manufacturer to be "the best she knows" (states an exchange). Mix together equal parts of rectified spirit, glycerine, and fresh milk. Mix these three ingredients by shaking thoroughly. This preparation will remain fresh for some months, as the spirit prevents the- milk from deteriorating. Apply the, lotion to the skin with a small .pad of wadding as often as necessary. The skin.will not suffer in any way, no matter how often -the preparation may be applied. The preparation not only acts as a protection against the elements, but also provides a sound foundation for powder. In addition, it helps to cleanse the skin.
